Party Time

Hi everyone, today’s blog it quite different from the previous ones I have written. This blog is about a surprise party that was thrown for my brother. My brother joined the Marines, so we decided to throw him a surprise going away party. By we, I mean me, my two sisters, and my brother’s girlfriend. We held the party at the local firehouse hall. We invited only close family and friends to the party. It turned out to be about fifty people! The theme of our party was a pot-luck-party. This is when everyone brings different foods to the party. Everyone was suppose to bring one thing. We were worried we were not going to have enough food for the party because everyone did not respond. Well, the complete opposite occurred! One family brought eleven trays of food! Everyone brought a lot more than they had to. Now, the only bad thing about surprise parties is the person who the party is for, usually finds out about the party. This was true of my brother’s party. A family friend, who is not to be named, blabbed about the party to my brother by accident. We were all worried he knew when and where the party was. My brother tried really hard to figure this out. He kept bugging us about the party. However, when my brother entered the party room, he was very surprised! It was fabulous! My brother was very grateful for the party and we all had a great time.

Keith Urban!!

Many people do not know who Keith Urban is unless you are a fan of country music. Well, he just happens to be one of my favorite country singers. This past week, I was lucky enough to go to his concert at Madison Square Garden. I went to the concert with my friend and we had floor seats. Our seats were amazing! We were the first section after the standing section. The opening act was a band called Sugarland, who just happens to be quite good. They preformed for a little more than an hour. Then Keith Urban played for almost two and a half hours. It was awesome! However, that is not the best part of the night. What really made this night so spectacular was that I touched Keith Urban. He was walking down the isle to get to the other stage. I reached my hand out along with the other crazy fans, and I touched his right shoulder. Then towards the end of the concert he walked down the same isle, and my friend and I touched his left shoulder. Well, I went bazurk I have never screamed so much in my life. I never thought I would react that way when I saw someone famous. He is just a person after all, but he is a gorgeous, Australian, country singing man, who I love.

My First Experience With Country Music

Even though I live on Long Island, I am a huge country music fan. In fact, that is the only type of music I listen to. I have been listening to country music for about 5 years now. I am not even sure how I came to like it. One day I just decided to go to my public library and take out some country music cds. I did not know who any of the artists were, so I chose the cds with the cutest guys on the cover. Well, to my surprise I loved the music. I wanted to know more about country music, so I researched it on the computer. I found out about all the different artists. I also found out there are no country radio stations on Long Island, which means the only way I would be able to listen to country music is if I got the cds. Well, that is exactly what I did. I went back to my library and took out a ton of country cds. From that point on, country music is the only music I listen to.
